It was my 8 a.m. Friday lecture in Holt Hall. I'm usually exhausted, hungry and sometimes hungover. As I glared around the room, I noticed that among my fellow drained and fatigued classmates, a small percentage of them were glowing.
These grinning students didn't get eight hours of sleep, start their day with a 6 a.m. workout and a bowl of Kix before class - they got their daily dose of the big "O."
Jealous? I sure was. This is why I have decided to replace my morning coffee with a warm cup of canoodling. But can an orgasm a day really keep the doctor away?
According to MSNBC orgasms:
- Ease depression and stress and help with sleep.
- Relieve pain. Oxytocin, which surges before and during climax is a powerful pain reliever.
- Counter prostate cancer. Several studies show the more ejaculations the better.
And even if climax isn't achieved, sex isn't a lost cause - even a fake "O" face can keep women smiling all day.
While some women suffer from orgasmic dysfunction, many suffer only from uneducated partners. It's nearly impossible for women to orgasm from wholesome, missionary, man-on-top, no-frills sex. Too often, men neglect females' nerve-packed powerhouse - that's right, the clitoris.
Even if your guy tries his hardest, the only person who knows how to do it best is you. So, if your mate can't "get 'er done," or you lack a sexual partner, you can still get your daily "O."
Guys are famous for it and ladies don't do it enough - that's right - masturbation.
Sometimes women can't cum until they are comfortable with the "Oh, I think I'm gonna pee" sensation that occurs right before climax. Vibrating wonders such as the rabbit from "Sex and the City" will open sexual doors and help women find their inner "O."
Medlineplus.com gives the following advice in preventing dysfunction when reaching orgasm: Keep a healthy attitude toward sex and educate yourself about sexual stimulation.
Communicate clearly your sexual needs and desires.
Realize that an orgasm is a complex coordination of the mind and body, and both need to be functioning properly.
Ladies, this means reading up on stimulating positions - hint: girl on top - telling your partner exactly what feels good - hint: they think they know but they usually don't have a clue - and lastly, making sure it's the right place and time - hint: drunk at a party or a cheating mate may not be conducive to climax.
So if applicable, next time you wake up and feel fatigued, try fitting in a romp session with your man or new toy. It will wake you up right and give you that "just hit up the tanning salon" glow people envy. And who knows, early morning sex may be just what you need to start acing those exams.
