Thumbs up to wall posters. Nothing covers up a rambunctious night of a fist going through the living room wall like a 24-by-36 snapshot of Al Pacino from "Scarface."

Thumbs down to people who talk at normal volume in class while the professor is lecturing. Annoying more than 30 people and disregarding all stares is a feat not met by many.

Thumbs up to the Writers Guild of America ending its strike. Late-night show monologues have seen a vast improvement and new episodes of "The Office" can now commence.

Thumbs down to Mystalkers and Facebook addicts in Meriam Library. Some students have last-minute papers to write or Blackboard Vista quizzes to take. If you need to kill time, get off the Dell and play on your cell phone.

Thumbs up to Mike Huckabee for staying in the presidential race. He's proving that his faith gives him the ability to disregard the science of evolution as well as simple arithmetic.

Thumbs down to Ralph Nader's entrance into the 2008 presidential race. His announcement sparked 2 million simultaneous yawns around the nation. Thanks for your deeds in Florida in 2000 - the last eight years have been fantastic.

Thumbs up to dextrose, maltodextrin, malic acid and less than 2 percent of magnesium stearate. If it weren't for these ingredients, Sweet Tarts wouldn't exist.

Thumbs down to umbrellas going haywire in the wind. Getting dragged for a block and half walking to campus is embarrassing.
