Angela Marsh, 21, was found dead in her home Sunday. The biology major planned to graduate in spring 2008.

Angela Marsh was a spontaneous woman and an "all around sweetheart."

The 21-year-old biology major was found dead in her home on Sunday morning. The university flag was lowered Tuesday in her memory.

Morgan Fryer had been Marsh's friend for the past couple of years and describes her as friendly and "obsessed" with music.

"She liked everything from country to rock 'n' roll," Fryer said.

The women met at a mutual friend's house. Marsh was somewhat shy and quiet, but an "all-around sweetheart," Fryer said.

She will miss Marsh's spontaneity, she said.

"She was always like, 'Hey, let's go do this, let's go do that,'" Fryer said.

Marsh was close with her family, especially her mother, father and siblings, Fryer said.

Fryer said she doesn't know how Marsh died, but police told her that the cause was a heart attack or stroke.

Police had released little information as of Tuesday, but foul play has been ruled out. An autopsy and determined cause of death are pending, said Joe Wills, director of public affairs and publications.

Marsh transferred to Chico State from Modesto Junior College in fall 2004 and planned to graduate in spring 2008, according to a university statement.

She wanted to become a veterinarian after graduation because she loved animals, according to her Facebook profile. She was also a Giants fan and loved playing poker, especially Texas Hold 'Em.

Dawn McClain, director of Affordable Mortuary in Chico, said Marsh's family plans to hold the funeral in her hometown of Manteca, but she did not yet know specific arrangements.
