Men's golf finishes 6th at NCAA Preview Tourney
Frazzetta leads the way for the Wildcats

After a third place finish at the Viking Fall Invitational, the Chico State men's golf team had a strong showing Monday and Tuesday at the NCAA Division II Preview Tournament - finishing sixth in a field of 20 elite teams.
The Wildcats had a complete team effort to overcome several of their competitors, including California Collegiate Athletic Association rivals Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Monterey Bay, UC San Diego and Cal State Stanislaus.
Chico put up a team score of 869, 17 strokes over par.
Central Oklahoma University took home the Preview title with an overall score of 859 - 7 strokes over par and 10 ahead of Chico State.
CCAA foe Sonoma State, champions of the Viking Fall Invitational only days ago, finished second overall - with a score of 863.
Freshman Eric Frazzetta led the way for Chico State, tying for 17th, with an overall score of 216 - one stroke under par.
Other standouts included freshman Kyle Souza and junior Brandon Harkins who tied at 218, senior Art Golden III at 221 and junior Lucas Delgado at 224.
The Wildcats will head home for their next tournament, the 2008 InterWest Wildcat Classic Oct. 13 and 14 at the Butte Creek Country Club in Chico.
