"It is hard to stay impartial when you run your own board," Queen Pandy said. "But impartiality keeps a board from collapsing on itself."
Running the board is time consuming and keeping people interested and entertained can be difficult, Queen Pandy said.
However, despite the difficulties, the friendships she has made have been reward enough for the work she goes to, she said.
"People say posting isn't 'real life' and shouldn't be taken seriously, but it is real," Queen Pandy said. "Perhaps, there is more of a mask being worn, but the person behind each persona has real feelings. At some point, you start to feel like part of a cyber family."
The time spent in running a message board has affected her family and social life, Queen Pandy said.
"I have had arguments with my husband about the amount of time I have spent on the boards," she said. "He has been jealous of my online friendships."
Since she started her board, chores have gone undone and her favorite television shows unwatched in favor of posting.
"I have had to get control of my 'addiction,'" she said.
Queen Pandy's reign has had its ups and downs, but she finds keeping her board going worthwhile.
"There have been good things to come out of my time on the boards ... and heartbreak as well," she said.
