Junior Jesse Eller is training to run in the Bay to Breakers 12K race and is the newly elected Associated Students president. Eller, 22, decided to run for president to become more involved with the university after interning at the Cross Cultural Leadership Center and being a leadership consultant for the California State Student Association, he said.

Junior Aubrey Douglas plans to cook more when school gets out because she'll have more free time, she said. Douglas works at Whitney Dining and mostly eats there, she said.

University Police train for shooting threats

Screams rang out through Kendall Hall Wednesday morning when police entered the building to respond to a threat during a scheduled active shooter drill. During the drill, a student carrying two guns and a bomb entered Kendall Hall and took several hostages in Student Judicial Affairs, police said.
