Summers are remembered for their lazy days by the river, the scorching sun and unbearable smoke. The wildfires that plagued California gave Chico a summer unlike any before. The Butte County Air Quality Management District declared the air "very unhealthy" and "hazardous" during the smoky conditions.

Friends with benefits is a term that has been swarming around my social circle since junior high. Of course, in junior high a FWB was more of a make-out partner than a post-2 a.m. booty call. Some students may find a FWB ideal. Longer than a one-night stand, yet less stressful than an affair and free of anything too emotional - what is there to object to? You can even lounge in your sweats with your "pal" after doing the dirty and watch reruns of "Friends," only to reassure that your relationship corresponds with the sitcom's title.

Discussing diversity and culture can be intimidating to students, unless you're Erica Flores, program coordinator at the Cross Cultural Leadership Center in Meriam Library Room 172. The center is responsible for programs such as the Diversity Summit and the President's Leadership Retreat and houses several student cultural organizations.

The trigger was pulled and in a flash there was a painful cry as a bullet hit flesh. The goat was bleeding profusely and junior Joe Sivalingam had only a few minutes before the goat would die. He ran through the obstacle course desperately trying to keep the goat alive.
