The men's basketball team ended its preseason with a close game against Division I University of the Pacific in a 52-46 loss Saturday. The Tigers started the game off with a 5-0 run and finished the final four minutes of the first half with a 7-1 run to lead the Wildcats 29-14.

The women's basketball team ended its exhibition series with a tough 95-51 loss to UC Berkeley on Wednesday. The team was no match for the No. 9 Golden Bears and their offense, which maintained the lead the entire game. The 'Cats shot 12-24 in the first half, trailing the Golden Bears 47-30.
Slow start leads to loss, split for women's volleyball team

The women's volleyball team's three-match win streak came to an end Friday on the road in La Jolla as it was swept by 12th-ranked UC San Diego, 25-17, 25-21 and 26-24. The Wildcats upset the Tritons 3-2 earlier this season Oct. 3. However, the Wildcats' offensive speed and passing game was somewhat nullified by their inability to set and pass, as they managed only 32 kills against UC San Diego, head coach Cody Hein said.
